The club is a friendly association of people of all skills who share an enthusiasm for photography in all its forms. The first official meeting was held on September 13, 1987.  The Cape Fear Camera Club is a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA).

There is a wide range of interests among members who pursue both color and black and white photography in many areas including travel, nature, pictorial, portraiture, and wedding/event photography. There is a growing interest and expertise among members in digital photography.  

Monthly Programs meet members' interests through presentations, guest speakers, and Club competitions. Local professional photographers, photojournalists, commercial photographers, and fine art photographers are often featured speakers. Some meetings are devoted to individual members sharing their special photographic talent and interests with the group.

In addition to monthly meetings and competitions, the club periodically holds photography outings, public exhibits, and special learning sessions which together make the club a focal point of photographic interest and education in the Cape Fear region.

Club meetings are normally held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM in the Cultural Arts Building, Room 2033 on the campus of the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. Check our Calendar page for any last minute changes. Click HERE for campus map.
