1987

  • R.J. Thompson, CFCC Founding Father, holds the 1st club meeting at New Hanover County Main Library
  • The 1st newsletter LATENT STATEMENT is published
  • CFCC joins Photographic Society of America (PSA)
  •  From 1987 - 2007, Competition was by prints & slides

1988

  • IM Blaustein wins the club logo competition
  • CFCC files as a non-profit 501 ( C ) ( 3 )

1990

  • CFCC joins Southeastern Council of Camera Clubs (SE3C)
  • Competition Points start to be recorded

1991

  • CFCC joins the ARTS COUNCIL & CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
  • Hospitality Committee disbanded
  • Field Trip Committee added 

1992

  • Our ‘Sister Club’ is The Westchester Photographic Society, New York

1993

  • Member name tags issued
  • CFCC rejoins PSA

1994

  • Our ‘Sister City’ is The Doncaster Camera Club, Doncaster England
  • CFCC invited to participate in their 100th Anniversary Exhibit
  • Nancy Pritchett delivers slides to Doncaster’s Secretary Stan Batty

1995

  • 19 club members fly to England for the August Exhibit opening

1998

  • Members decide to eliminate July & August meetings
  • Lending Library discontinued; books donated to UNCW Library

1999

  • By-Laws of the Constitution are amended

2001

  • Keith Savage registers and donates domain names (.com & .org) to CFCC
  • Jerry Guba builds the 1st camera club  website
  • CFCC rejoins SE3C
  • Survey shows most members shoot film but interested in digital

2002

  • Email addresses collected for 1st time

2005

  • SE3C disbands

2006

  • Club newsletters update from postal mailings to digital
  • General Meetings and Competitions are assigned their own nights

2007

  • Duane Angstadt coordinates the 1st digital competition

2009

  • John Wilson builds a lighted viewing box for Print Competitions (still in use)

2010

  • Club meetings moved from UNCW to Cape Fear Community College
  • Jo Ann Tomaselli creates annual Images Of Distinction Exhibit

2012

  • Visual Pursuit engaged for hosting website

2013

  • Les Conner updates the club logo design

2017

  • Digital newsletters  discontinued; Club Events now listed on website Calendar 

2018

  • Membership reaches 150

2019

  •  Club Logo  undergoes a complete redesign

2022

         Live meetings resume after extended time meeting via Zoom
