CAPE FEAR CAMERA CLUB MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT
By becoming a member of the Cape Fear Camera Club ("CFCC" or the "Club"), you agree to this Membership Agreement. Please read the information below, then click "I Agree" to begin registration.
1. ELIGIBILITY I am 18 or older. If I bring a guest under 18, I confirm I am that minor's parent/guardian, or that I have the parent/guardian's consent to this Agreement on the minor's behalf.
2. WAIVER OF LIABILITY I understand that CFCC activities, including travel to and from them, involve inherent risks, and I voluntarily accept these risks for myself and my guest(s). To the fullest extent permitted by North Carolina law, I release, waive, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Club, its directors, officers, members, agents, speakers, instructors, successors, and assigns ("Released Parties") from all claims — including claims arising from the Released Parties' ordinary negligence — for any injury, loss, or damage arising from Club or Club-sponsored activities. This waiver does not cover gross negligence, willful misconduct, or intentional acts, to the extent such claims cannot lawfully be waived. If any part of this waiver is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
3. USE OF MEMBER INFORMATION, IMAGES & LIKENESS CFCC communicates with and about members via its website, social media, the Photographic Society of America (PSA), and its newsletter. I consent to the reasonable use of images I submit and my likeness as captured at Club activities — including on the website, social media, at meetings/gatherings, and in the newsletter — for as long as I'm a member. I may revoke consent for future use in writing; previously published materials won't be removed.
4. CONTEST RULES By entering Club contests, I agree to follow the applicable competition rules and guidelines.
5. VOLUNTARY AGREEMENT I've had ample opportunity to read and evaluate this Agreement, am legally competent to sign it, and do so freely and voluntarily, without duress.
6. MODIFICATIONS The Club may amend this Agreement with officer approval. Members will be notified by email or website posting at least 30 days before changes take effect; continued membership after that date means acceptance.
7. GOVERNING LAW This Agreement is governed by North Carolina law. Disputes shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in New Hanover County, North Carolina.
